The Southern California Distribution Management Association is actively engaged in promoting education through scholarships. Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been invested in students throughout the region who are developing their careers in logistics. Scholarship funding is primarily derived from the DMA's annual golf tournament. DMA now directly manages scholarships on its own as opposed to funding College or University foundations to manage scholarships.

Active member involvement ensures maximum benefit for students. Active scholarships include the following:

DMA Member/ Member's Children Scholarships
Benefactors: DMA Members and Children of Members

Text Book Scholarships

Benefactors: Norco College Logistics Management program, San Bernardino Valley College Diesel Technology program, Cal Poly Pomona.
Textbooks frequently cost more than tuition especially in supply chain and technical fields.  The DMA has initiated several textbook libraries where students can use a textbook for an entire semester, return it and then the textbook is used again the following semester.  For example a $4,000.00 investment in textbooks yields a student benefit of $32,000 over an eight semester life of a textbook.

Endowed Logistics Scholarships

Benefactors:  Chaffey College, Norco College and San Bernardino Valley College.
These scholarships are collectively valued at over $100,000.00 and are managed by each college's non-profit foundations.  Investment gains on these scholarships are utilized to provide tuition assistance.

Other Scholarships

Benefactors: CSU San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona
Being a responsive organization, DMA awards merit based scholarships in varying dollar amounts to students focused on logistics and supply-chain management on an as needed basis.  Recently the DMA has awarded over $20,000 in direct student scholarships.
